Doc’s Beach House is ground zero for casual beach dining, fun in the sun, and cold drinks on the beach. It’s located in Bonita Springs, Florida and is a must visit if you’re in southwest Florida.

This beachside restaurant serves up cold beer, some of the best pizza in town and ocean views to die for. Doc’s Beach House sit right on Bonita Beach. If you’re on Bonita Beach Road, travel west until the road curves north. That’ where the public beach parking is and where most people in Bonita setup camp for a fun day on the beach.

Bonita Springs by nature is a laid back community nestled between Ft. Myers and Naples. It’s beach atmosphere offers a combination of what you will find at Naples and Ft. Myers Beaches.  I like to think of Naples beaches as full of old retired folks and speedo wearing tourist, while Fort Myers Beach is a more of a younger party crowd. Bonita beach has a touch of both leaning towards the laid back vibe, just the way I like it.

Doc's Beach House

I called Bonita Springs home for 8 years and loved it. We spent many a day at Doc’s Beach House. I say that because I want you to know the info I’m giving you is real-world stuff. Not just research.

Doc’s Beach House Tour

I have a few videos of Doc’s, but this one is much better than what I have. It gives you a great tour of the property and explains a lot about it.

About Doc’s Beach House

Doc’s is the hub of Bonita Beach It’s really the only place to get food directly on the beach, drink and enjoy beach activities.  They offer activities such as para-sailing, jet ski rentals, beach volleyball and you can even rent one of those water bikes with the big wheels.  I would advise against it though, you’ll get bored quickly and will look ridiculous.

Doc’s owners are from Chicago, so it’s a great place to watch any of the Chicago sports teams. You’ll see lots of Chicago sports memorabilia upstairs as well as beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Docs Beach House Bar

Doc’s Beach House is a 2 story building with the top floor for restaurant patrons to sit in comfortable air conditioning, watch a ball game, or sit at the bar and chat-up some other folks. The bottom floor is more for beach people to walk in and grab a bite to eat, and place an order to go. They have just expanded this lower level as well.

They also have a great beach sitting area under towering coconut palm trees. This is my favorite part about the place. You can walk up to an outside window, order a hot dog, grab a cold beer out of the ice bin, and then sit at a stone picnic table on the sand and watch the beach activities.

Doc’s really is a touch of paradise.

Doc’s Beach House Menu

For being a restaurant right on the beach, you aren’t going to pay huge prices. They like to keep it friendly and casual. The food is delicious, especially the pizza. Definitely a must try.

Below you’ll see some of Doc’s menu items. The one thing I get nearly every time is the homemade Conch Fritters. They are out of this world good and the best in all of southwest Florida.

Beach Rentals

To help you enjoy your beach day even more. Doc’s Beach House offers a wide variety of rentals. Located right on Bonita Beach you’ll find Bonita Jet Ski & Parasail which has Jet Ski rentals, Back Bay Dolphin Tours, parasailing, beach chair rentals, sail boat rentals, paddle boards and more.

Important To Know

Parking

Parking can sometimes be a little tricky. As I mentioned, Doc’s is located right next to the public beach parking. So you can park there and pay by the hour. But that parking lot can get full and stay full, especially during peak season. Doc’s Beach House does have complimentary valet parking for everyone enjoying the restaurant. Just pull in and they park your car for you in their small lot.

Bring Cash

Doc’s Beach House is a cash only restaurant. At least they will were the last time I was there which wasn’t that long ago. They do have an ATM to get cash if you don’t have any on you.
