This week’s Caribbean webcam comes from the island of Carriacou, which is the largest of the Grenadines, a necklace of island gems scattered between St. Vincent and Grenada. It is part of the independent tri-island nation of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. That I didn’t know. I thought it was part of the island nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Someone help me out if I’m wrong here.
Carriacou is about 7 miles in length and averages 2 miles across. Volcanic actions created an interesting topography mainly of wooded hills, rising up dramatically in places, (the highest being 956 feet up), and giving the island an irregular coastline. Coral reefs surround the island providing a base for beautiful sandy beaches. The main town and port of entry is Hillsborough and there are several smaller villages dotting our island.
Carriacou Webcam – St. Vincent and the Grenadines
This Carriacou webcam refreshes automatically and looks east towards the island of Petite Martinique. It’s not the clearest or most beautiful Caribbean Webcam we’ve posted on RumShopRyan, but it showcases the gorgeous blue water and makes you dream about sailing the seas around them.
Cheers,
RumShopRyan
