After one sip, you’ll be dancing to the Banana Wind.
My parents paid casa de RumShop a visit a few weeks ago. When they walked into the Sand Trap (my office), and saw the slightly larger than normal collection of rum bottles, my mother commented in a slightly disturbed voice, ” Umm wow, that’s a lot of alcohol.”
I proudly reply, “Yes, yes it is.”
One has to have a good assortment of rums and mixers to prepare a wide array of Boat Drinks. To the untrained eye it may look like I’m in need of a ride to the rehab clinic. But in true Castaway style, the evidence is a necessity and just another tool of the trade. No problem here mom! Thirsty? And on that note, who’s ready for a new Boat Drink recipe!?
This week’s recipe comes from Castaway Jeremy McDaniel, and it’s called the Banana Boat. I don’t know what it is about banana flavored cocktails, but it’s like drinking a tall glass of vacation. I’ll take two please.
- 1 1/2 oz Cruzan Coconut Rum
- 1oz Cruzan Light Rum
- 4oz Cranberry Juice
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 3/4oz Banana liqueur
- Club Soda
Mixing Instructions: Shake all but club soda, strain and top with soda. Raise glass and toast.
