Pirate Sessions 2

Down here it’s coconuts and beer
We keep it simple but we don’t really don’t care
It’s a 24/7 right kind of livin’
And Lovin’ our slice of paradise heaven
And that’s how we spend our time
In an island state of mind

You Castaways are going to love this one. The Pirate Sessions II album dropped yesterday and is quickly climbing the iTunes charts. The new album contains 16 songs, the eight original Pirate Sessions songs and eight new Pirate Sessions II songs. The songs…yeah, they’re damn good. I was able to hear most of them last Friday night in Key West. The band set up shop on the front of a catamaran and played their songs as we sailed past Mallory Square and into a spectacular Key West sunset. Couldn’t have been a cooler experience. I’ll write more on that later, but first here are the new songs from Pirate Sessions II.

Pirate Sessions II:

  1. Island State Of Mind
  2. Coco Cay
  3. Pirate Girl
  4. See You By The Sea
  5. Home Away From Home Town
  6. 300 Years Ago
  7. Hemingway’s Hideaway
  8. Caribbean Crazy

My favorite songs are Island State Of Mind, Pirate Girl and Caribbean Crazy.

I highly recommend the new album. I’m listening to it as I write this–glass of Plantation Rum sitting table side and songs that send your island soul to a relaxed state of mind. It’s the perfect new addition to your “Take Me Away” playlist. The 16 song album is $11.99 and be be bought in iTunes.

The Pirate Sessions - Jesse Rice

I was told about a contest they are having that gives away a trip to St. John. I didn’t see any information in the CD that I got from them but will let you know more when I find out. Something about them flying you down and doing a concert on Cinnamon Bay. Can you say legendary!

Jesse Rice is the lead local and wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. He is joined by Brain Kelley, Chase Rice, Tyler Hubbard, Steve Bryant, Mike Durham, Curt Ryle, Mike Severs, Gary Smith and Wanda Vick. If you liked the first album you’re going to fall in love with this one as well. It’s professionally produced and the lyrics have heart and feeling. Nothing is forced or contrived, everything just flows and puts you in that island state of mind. Sort of like the Plantation I’m sipping on. Sweet sweet goodness.

Here are just a few photos from that amazing sunset cruise with Pirate Sessions. Lots more to come!

Wow! This is the kind of material I’ve been waiting for besides Kenny Chesney. I really like them all but the acoustic guitar I’m a sucker for, so Hemingway’s hideaway and Caribbean Crazy stand out the most to me. “see you by the sea” has a good romantic feel to it…can’t go wrong with a girl and the coast right? And ” island state of mind” is exactly what I try to keep myself in to drown out the stress from the everyday. Pirate Sessions, my hats off to you guys. Well done! cheers!

I have had my ears on these guys for a bit now and was super excited for the album arrival. Their sound totally makes me want to a crack a bottle of Cruzan 9 and slip away…toes in sand of course.

Thanks Ryan. Keep the new music coming

I definitely agree with your three favorites. I’d have to add “Haze of the Rum” and “Gettin’ Down in a Pirate Town” to my list as well. Listening to this album with my RumShopRyan castaway t-shirt and a little Capt. Morgan Private Stock (I realize it’s not as traditional as other rums, but I’m out in the country at the moment without many choices). Haha

If anyone’s reading this that has NOT purchased the album, then DO IT NOW!!! You’ll be glad you did.

Wow!!! Love all the music. Very few albums do that for me. Just recovered from a life changing illness and didn’t get my passion for island hopping back till I downloaded this album. I can’t pick favorite songs yet. Too many to choose from. Jimmy buffet bless your heart for blazing the trail but it is time to move over for these guys. Guys if you ever make it over here to Orange County CA, I will be there. God bless you for giving me my spirit of the love of the caribbean back.
