I don’t watch a lot of music videos, but I guess it’s a rule that you have to have scantly clad ladies frolicking around all over the place. I’m not complaining but it’s pretty much a cliché. This week’s featured music video is by soca and reggae artist Sugar Daddy, and he indeed has plenty of random ladies dancing around in some pretty nice island locations.

Sugar Daddy – Sweet Soca Music

Signed to Sony France, his single “Sweet Soca Music” went Top 10 on the French sals charts and reached #2 on the Club charts and #1 on the Airplay charts for 4 weeks in August 2003. The track has to date sold over 300,000 copies.

Sweet Soca Music” became the first ever certified Gold Record performed by an artist from Trinidad and Tobago. The track is also released in Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Spain and Italy where it reached the top 10.

Born in 1975, in the little paradise island of Tobago, Stafford Samuel aka “Sugar Daddy” began his singing career at the age of 13. He performed with Kiskedee and famed Jamaican artists like buju Banton, Sizzla and Cappleton. Sugar Daddy creates his own blend of Soca and Reggae, with his first international hit, “Sweet Soca Music” becoming an instant hit in the post-Carnival in Trinidad and the Caribbean.

Just another classic Caribbean tune to remind you of the islands and relax your mind. If you have a reggae or trop-rock tune you want me to check out, please leave a comment below or email me.
