There is so much to see in the USVI and BVI. No matter how long I stay on island in the VI, I always leave saying, “so many islands, so little time.” To partially remedy this feeling you need speed, comfortable speed. To see and experience the most when island hopping the Virgin Islands, you need to get from island to island fast. This enables you to spend the most time possible soaking up the island bliss. Our new friends Joe and Katie of Love City Excursions can do that for you in their fast 33 ft. World Cat.

Where Do You Want To Go?
With so many sights to see, especially in the British Virgin Islands, a well thought out itinerary is important. Here are a few options for you.
Triangle Trip: Norman Island to snorkel the Caves and Indians, lunch at Pirates Bight, stop at Sandy spit (deserted island,) and finish up the day sipping Painkillers at the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar.
Baths Trip: Virgin Gorda to see The Baths, which are a rock formations similar to a grotto, then lunch at Foxys Taboo or Marina Cay, swim at Sandy Spit or stop to snorkel again and if there’s time, finish the day at Soggy Dollar.
Snorkeling and Jost Van Dyke: Morning snorkeling in US waters, hitting some spots that can’t be reached by car, the captain will clear customs in great harbor while the guests walk around and shop, then lunch at Foxys Taboo on the other side of the island, swim at Sandy Spit, and finish the day at the Soggy Dollar.
The boat always rents privately so itineraries vary greatly. Their motto is “the best day of your vacation!” They can do day trips hopping around Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda trips, and everything in between.
About Love City Excursions
Joe and Katie are both US Coast Guard 100 ton licensed captains and have worked in the US and British Virgin islands on various charter boats for over 16 years combined. After a short stint back stateside in 2013, they decided to move back to St. John and pursue opening their own charter boat business on the little island they love. After finding the perfect boat in their 33 foot World Cat, Love City Excursions was born!
Joe Zachary is originally from Nashville Tennessee, a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, and grew up loving the water; spending time kayaking, river rafting, and generally enjoying the outdoors. Joe moved to St. John 8 years ago with the dream of spending his time scuba diving, and quickly realized he loved sailing and day chartering. Joe has been captaining larger vessels in the USVI and BVI for the past four years, with a short stint captaining in Charleston, SC. He is currently our full time captain and loves helping our guests have the best day of their vacation!
Katie is originally from Colorado but grew up with a distinct love for the water, spending vacations in the Caribbean and Hawaii and lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons through high school and college. After graduating from Colorado State University in 2006, she moved to Saint John and first worked at Maho Bay Campground before finally settling, happily, into working on the water. With 8 years of experience in the USVI and BVI waters, Katie is sure to find you a perfect day, no matter your needs. You can also frequently find her as the voice behind almost all communications for the company.
Catzilla, the vessel, has a good story as well. Joe and Katie moved back to St. John from Charleston South Carolina in order to start the business and after a lot of road bumps, they found the perfect boat, CatZilla in North Carolina. Due to some time restraints they had to buy her sight unseen, and obviously had surveys and mechanical pressure tests performed, and then she was shipped the same day Joe and Katie got married.
She arrived the next week and Love City Excursion began to take shape. Catzilla is a 33 foot world cat built for off shore fishing and is incredibly stable and can handle rough seas better than most boats. She’s also very large so they can take up to 12 passengers comfortably, and everyone loves riding up on the bow in their awesome marine bean bag chairs.
Next time you are on St. John and looking to go island hopping the Virgin Islands, look into Love City Excursions.
