Caribbean Weekly Wrap Up: Antigua, St. Lucia and Beach Bars

I hate Hurricane Matthew.

Right now as I write this the storm is battering Grand Bahamas and making it’s way towards the Space Coast of Florida. While we aren’t getting much weather from the storm here in Ft. Myers, it has caused a lot of damage throughout the Caribbean.

I’ve been monitoring the Facebook accounts of my friends in the Bahamas and it looks pretty bad, especially in Nassau and Grand Bahamas. Stay safe all.

Another reason why this storm is a thorn in my side is because myself, Castaway Crystal and a group of Castaways are suppose to jump aboard Mermaid Tales and join Captain Mike for a 2-week island hopping cruise from Nassau to the Turks and Caicos. A trip of a life time. The impact of the storm is not only going to cause issues, but it looks as if the storm is suppose to do a full loop and possibly hit the Bahamas and Florida again.

Are you F***ing kidding me!

What can you do? I guess just raise a glass and pray for those impacted most.

Caribbean Salted Beef Soup: One of my favorite soups to look forward to on “Soup Saturdays” was when mom would have a massive pot of saltbeef (salted beef) soup, packed with ground provisions bubbling away on the stove.
