When one adventure ends, a new adventure begins. At least that’s what we experienced after sailing for four days on a gorgeous 56′ Lagoon catamaran called Viramar with a hand full of talented Caribbean bloggers like ourselves.

Once our island hopping adventure throughout the US and British Virgin Islands came to an end, we were so close to St. John, there was no way we could head back home without enjoying a few nights on this special rock – and that’s exactly what we did.

Instead of taking us back to St. Thomas, where we boarded Viramar, Captain Tyler dropped us off in Cruz Bay. After going through customs, we hugged and waved goodbye to our new friends and started walking towards the next adventure that lies ahead.

But before we could delve into all that St. John is, we had to get the basics taken care of first, such as getting our jeep rental and checking in to our first villa.

Thanks to the wonderful people at Island Abodes, we gave our sea legs a rest at two of their eight villas (Honeymoon Suite and Garden Suite).

HONEYMOON SUITE

Our first night was spent at Honeymoon Suite and we absolutely loved it! The name alone is adorable. Someone once said our trips are like a never ending honeymoon so this villa couldn’t be more fitting for us.

St. John Island Abodes Honeymoon Suite

The landscape around Honeymoon Suite is lush and tropical – you’ll love the walkway. Once you enter the 750sqft studio suite, you’ll see that it has all the amenities you need to make it your temporary island home. Some of you might wish it could be your permanent home once you see the amazing view of Cruz Bay from the deck – I know I did.

Oh! and let’s not forget about the shower – open air and big enough for two. If you really are on your honeymoon, you two could definitely have some fun in there. Just make sure to turn off the water. Conservation is extremely important when on island.

I wish we could have spent more time in this cozy, bright and lovely space, but it being unavailable for our last two nights gave us an opportunity to experience another villa from Island Abodes – Garden Suite.

GARDEN SUITE

St. John Island Abodes Garden Suite

Located in the quiet neighborhood of Chocolate Hole, you’ll find peaceful Garden Suite – A 1500sqft one bedroom apartment that can sleep four.

Like Honeymoon Suite, the landscaping is lush, tropical and breathtaking as you walk up to Garden Suite. The native stonework on the outside deck is an exquisite touch. Relaxing on the large lani with a cold Carib was one of our favorite things to do after a long day of exploring. Listening to the gentle breeze blow through the trees as the local birds would sing us a melody was pure bliss.

The private apartment is fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and convenient. You are going to love it!

Maho Beach

Both locations are just a few minutes drive from Cruz Bay. When you arrive on St. John, your island host will greet you at the ferry dock and will take you to your villa.

The hosts are extremely helpful, friendly and professional. KC was a huge help when we moved from Honeymoon Suite to Garden Suite. She took care of our belongings and made sure they arrived at our second villa safely. It was a seamless move. We didn’t even have to take time away from our beach day on Maho to do it. KC, if you’re reading this, thank you again for everything. You’re awesome!

So next time you need a place to stay on St. John, check out Island Abodes. We loved our experience with them and I think you will too.

Never Stop Exploring.
